The event resets every Tuesday, but judging begins on Friday. This gives you a few days to prepare your ensemble before presenting it to Masked Rose.
How to Participate
Getting started with the Fashion Report is simple. Here’s what you need to do:
- Unlock the Gold Saucer: If you haven’t already, you’ll need to gain access to this entertainment paradise. To do so, complete the quest “It Could Happen to You.” You can pick it up from the Well-Heeled Youth in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X:9.6, Y:9.0). You must be at least level 15 and have completed the main story quest for your starting city.
- Unlock the Fashion Report: Once in the Gold Saucer, head to the main counter and speak with Lewena (X:4.8, Y:6.1). She will offer the quest “Passion for Fashion,” which introduces you to Masked Rose and unlocks the Fashion Report.
- Consult Masked Rose: Every Tuesday, visit Masked Rose in the Gold Saucer (X:7.2, Y:7.4). He will provide hints for the week’s theme. These clues correspond to specific gear slots, such as head, body, legs, and accessories.
- Assemble Your Outfit: Use the hints to figure out which pieces of gear will score well. This is where the real fun begins! You’ll dig through your armoury chest, retainers, and maybe even craft or buy items to create the perfect look.
- Get Judged: Starting on Friday, return to Masked Rose and choose to be judged. You can try up to four times per week to improve your score, but you only receive the MGP rewards once.
Tips for a High Score
Scoring big in the Fashion Report is a mix of puzzle-solving and community collaboration. The ultimate goal for many is to reach a score of 80 or higher to earn the maximum MGP reward. Here are some tips to help you hit that mark:
1. Aim for 80, Not 100
While a perfect score of 100 is possible, it often requires rare or expensive dyes and gear. The primary rewards are unlocked at 80 points. Achieving this score is much more manageable and provides an excellent MGP payout for minimal effort. Participating and getting any score will still net you 10,000 MGP, so it’s always worth a try!
2. Use Community Resources
The FFXIV community is your best friend. Masked Rose’s hints can be quite cryptic. Thankfully, dedicated players solve the puzzle every week and share their findings. Shortly after the theme goes live on Tuesday, you can check these resources for solutions:

This MGP can be used to purchase exclusive prizes in the Gold Saucer, including highly sought-after mounts (like the Fenrir or Archon Throne), minions, hairstyles, emotes, and unique glamour gear.
